9.  May 2005  Into the Southwest deserts:  Death Valley mountains, Zion, Monument Valley, Grand Canyon ...




8.    October 2003: A 45 mile round trip into the Cathedral  Range of Yosemite, for a climb up  Vogelsang Peak



7.  May 2003:  A return trip up Yosemite Falls with my old friend Tom. Then we travel to up to Mahogany Flat at 8000' to introduce Tom to astronomical possibilites of this darksite.

6.  October 2002:  miles and miles up out of Yosemite Valley into the backcountry, to Cloud's Rest and Sunrise Lakes. And then camping and hiking again in the mountains of Death Valley.

 5.  May 2002:   trip up Yosemite Falls during the spring runoff, then over to Indian Ridge above North Dome. Camping  in Thorndike campground in Panamint Mountains.

4.  May 2001 Trip  to San Francisco, wine country, Big Sur, Yosemite, Sequoia, and Death Valley

3.  October 2000:  Up Half Dome with two friends

1.  Huge camping trips all around the Southwest, then across to New York  (8000 miles)




Well, I must confess that when working on my own time, I'm getting a bit slow in doing my Trip Reports. Yet I still do them, because I think that someone, somewhere, will enjoy a little bit of what they read. Sure there are lots of sites and stories out there. Sure there are stories better  composed and written.  This time though, perhaps a certain part of these reports will resonate with you in particular, and cause you to take a leap of faith and plan a trip.  Get Out MoreOr as the advertising caption says "Just Do It."
